DATE: NOVEMBER TUESDAY 3 @ 18:30
VENUE: Millennium Hall, City Hall, Cork
Michael Morpurgo is one of our best-loved and most talented writers for young people.
His recent novel,Listen to the Moon, has a strong link to Co. Cork as it was inspired by an account he read of the sinking of the Lusitania off the Old Head of Kinsale in 1915.
Don’t miss this chance to come along and hear him speak about his life and writing, and what it was about the Lusitania story that struck such a chord. Michael is perhaps best known for his novel War Horse, which was adapted for stage by the National Theatre in London and was subsequently staged to great acclaim in cities across the world from Dublin to New York to Beijing. It has also been adapted for cinema by Steven Spielberg.
This will be a fascinating talk for all the family from ages 8 up and will include time for
questions. There will be a bookstall on the night. Contact your local library to book your place ASAP. NOTE THIS IS TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM CITY LIBRARY SITE.
