On Saturday, November 26th last, one of our students swam in the Munster Schools Gala in The University of Limerick. We asked him to share the experience with us:
With a time of 44.44 seconds in 50m Backcrawl, I qualified for The national Schools Gala. I trained for 9 hours each week to get ready. When the big day arrived, I traveled with my parents to Dublin. I was one of 750 children from schools all over Ireland and I wore my school jersey with great pride. I was very nervous but my hopes were to come in the top 20. With a time of 43.48 seconds I came 19th in Ireland, achieving my dream while representing St. Joseph’s.
