Mindfulness in 5th Class

Tara McSweeney, parent and Complementary Health Teacher in Cork College of Commerce is teaching Mindfulness and Well-being to 5th class.

Mindfulness helps us to come into the present moment.

By focusing on the breath and using techniques such as body scanning and visualisation, the brain can be trained to let go of excessive thoughts.

Regular practise can lead to feelings of calm, an increased ability to concentrate, and increased emotional intelligence.

It can also help  to alleviate anxiety and stress and to promote restful sleep.
Mindfulness is an invaluable tool for young people in today’s ever more busy and sometimes stressful world.
The boys really enjoyed it and we hope this will have a positive impact on all aspects of their lives.
