It was decided that this year the first student council would be set up in St. Joseph’s NS.  A group of 5 students would represent the student body in discussions about issues that affect all the students.  They would also be in a position to undertake initiatives that would benefit the school.

Almost all the students from 6th class stepped forward as candidates.  They made speeches as to what they would do if they were to be elected.  Ten students were chosen to go forward for student elections.  They have spent two weeks campaigning – putting up posters and making speeches.
