The Lord Mayor’s Visit

Cork’s Lord Mayor, Tony Fitzgerald visited the pupils and staff in St. Joseph’s NS this morning.  It is a Cork tradition that the Lord Mayor visit the Cork city schools at the start of the year to acknowledge the importance of education and learning.  He also spoke to the boys about the importance of healthy eating and looking after our environment.  He presented the boys who did not miss one day of school last year with certificates.  It was a great opportunity for the boys to meet the Lord Mayor.  The Bodhrán Bookills played and all the boys sang Amhrán na BhFiann.
