Mrs. O’Mahony has worked as the Speech and Drama teacher in St. Joseph’s NS since 1987. She made the decision to retire at the end of May. Mrs. O’Mahony has taught every boy who has passed through the school since ’87.
She is instrumental in the choreography of the infant concerts at Christmas. Every year she works closely with the 4th class teacher to put on a play for the parents in the Mardyke House. This is always a very enjoyable experience for pupils, parents and teachers.
Mrs. O’Mahony has a kind, patient and calm disposition that has an immediate positive effect on the boys that she comes in to contact with. Under Mrs. O’Mahony’s guidance it does not take long for the boys to perform with confidence in front of their class. This confidence then transfers to other areas of their lives.
Mrs. O’Mahony will be missed by the school staff as she has been a pleasure to work with. On behalf of the whole school community we would like to wish her well.
