January was a very eventful month in Senior Infants! We were involved in so many sports. We started hurling with Fachtna our GAA coach, and we love it! We also started basketball with Ronan. We are so thankful to Ronan for giving up his time to teach us new skills! We also continued Fun Fitness with Rachel. We know exercise is so important to stay fit and healthy, and we have been doing lots of it!
We continued to meet with our 5th class buddies to help with our reading, maths and IT skills. We started Literacy and Numeracy stations with Ms.Bermingham, Mrs.Kirwan, and Mr. O Sullivan. During the Literacy sessions we focused on reading, handwriting, and rhyme. During the Maths sessions we focused on adding, word problems and ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc). We love working in small groups and getting a break from the classroom.
Our Aistear theme for January was The Hospital. We had so much fun exploring all the different Aistear areas! There are definitely some future doctors and nurses among us! A huge thank you to Ms.Bermingham for helping us out with Aistear!
We earned our 10th yard voucher for being an excellent líne! The reward was a pyjama day where we got to go to the staffroom for hot chocolate! We even got to dance on the tables!
Overall, we have had an amazing start to 2020! We have worked hard, and played even harder (that’s what Senior Infants is all about!) We hope you enjoy our slideshow!! 🙂
