Cork Zero Waste Competition in Conjunction with Nano Nagle Place

The pupils of 5th class participated in a competition recently organised by Cork Zero Waste in conjunction with Nano Nagle Place in Douglas Street. Their task was to design a christmas tree decoration from recyclable material which was to be placed on the tree at the Nano Nagle Centre. The boys came up with absolutely amazing decorations that looked great and were all made of materials that would otherwise be thrown out. The staff at the Nano Nagle centre were astounded by their creativity and efforts. Other schools from the city participated in the event also.

We were thrilled to hear yesterday that one of our boys was the overall winner! Lochlan won the prize – a voucher for Pinocchio Toy Shop on Paul’s Street – with his amazing nativity scene made from a plastic bottle, cardboard and paper. We are so proud of him and all the boys of 5th class.
