Ms. Kirwan starts every school year informing and encouraging the 6th class boys to take part in the Student Council. Any interested boys put themselves forward and the process begins. Every candidate must first go for an interview with a member of staff. At this stage the students are asked questions like what is a student Council? What characteristics are necessary for a good student council member? What ideas do you have? How will you communicate with the Student body? If successful, the students proceed to the next phase. They must give a speech to the whole school about what they hope to do and why they should be voted in. An election then takes place where each student from 1st to 6th class votes on a ballot paper. Five students are then elected onto the Student Council. Well done to Ms. Kirwan and all the boys who put themselves forward!
