Here in St Josephs NS there are various facilities that accommodate a wide variety of different sports.
In the yard located alongside the school there are several basketball hoops and courts where basketball can be played by students. The bringing of soccer balls out into the yard is also permitted so the boys can play soccer as well.
There is a lined running track located along the circumference of the yard where races and other types of games can be played. The playing field beside the school is also an area where many games can be played by all ages.
Throughout the year, the boys also get the opportunity to play rugby with the Presentation Brothers College transition year students. Every pupil in 6th class gets the opportunity to develop their rugby skills.
Jim Doran from Cricket Ireland imparts cricket skills to the students during the year and they then get a chance to show off these skills in the Cricket Club towards the end of the year.
St. Joseph’s NS is conveniently located near the Mardyke Arena. All students from 3rd class take part in blocks of swimming lessons every year.
