Junior and Senior Infants learned Lámh signs with parent Norma Kerrisk.
Norma is a Speech and Language Therapist and introduced us to Lámh for Creative Schools month.
Lámh signs can support communication. They are always used with speech. There are currently 500 Lámh signs so only key words in a sentence are signed.
Norma taught the classes a few useful signs that we can use in school. She also did a Spring poem and Ireland's Call. The classes performed these during our weekly assembly and the whole school joined in with us after seeing us perform. Thank you to Ms. Sheehan and Mr. Pettersen for playing the guitar along with us.
We are making an effort to use some Lámh signs in school to enable us to communicate with others who may have language difficulties.
